ABSORBABLE SUTURES
Endure Chromic CATGUT Surgical Sutures
Non-adhering and biologically inert - Twisted Multifilament
The Endure Absorbable Chromic CATGUT Suture is a sterile surgical suture composed of purified connective tissue derived from the serosal layer of the bovine intestine or submucosal layer of the ovine intestine. Packed in isopropyl alcohol to keep the suture soft, flexible and improve handling. These sutures tend to absorb faster in infected tissues.
WeSuture is the brand name of surgical sutures by Endure Industries. Our Chromic CATGUT Sutures meet the requirements of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) Pharmacopoeia of monograph requirements for absorbable surgical sutures.
INDICATIONS
Chromic CATGUT Suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurosurgical procedures. Because of its relative biological inertness, it is recommended for use when the least amount of suture reaction is needed.
PERFORMANCE
Chromic CATGUT suture elicit a moderate inflammation of tissue. Loss of tensile strength and loss of suture mass follow as the proteolytic enzymatic digestive process proteolytic the gut material. Chromic CATGUT sutures are absorbed more rapidly in tissues where increased levels of proteolytic enzymes are present as in the secretions from the stomach, cervix, and vagina.
