PDO Suture is indicated for use in all types of soft tissue approximation, including use in cardiovascular tissue where growth is expected to occur. PDO suture is not indicated in adult cardiovascular tissue, microsurgery, and ophthalmic and neural tissue.

PDO suture elicits a minimal to moderate initial inflammatory tissue reaction. Progressive loss of tensile strength and eventual absorption of PDO occurs by means of hydrolysis. Absorption begins as a loss of tensile strength followed by a loss of mass. In the Biodegradability Study, In vivo strength retention was observed at 2,4,6,8 weeks in rats. In vivo strength retention of Absorbable Polydioxanone Suture was 65-70% of the original tensile strength after 4 weeks and 50-60% of the original tensile strength after 6 weeks. This result was similar to other suture products or superior to them. Absorbable Polydioxanone Suture will be absorbed in 150 days at most after implanted.

• Do not use if package is opened or damaged!
• Discard opened, unused sutures!
